A tragic accident occurred on the Dörtyol-Payas highway when a truck driven by Şükrü K. crossed into the opposite lane and collided with a car driven by Mehmet Sönmez.
Following the report of the incident, numerous emergency response teams including health, police, and fire personnel were dispatched to the scene of the accident.
The car driver Sönmez and six others, including a child, lost their lives in the collision, while one person sustained injuries.
The injured individual was taken to Dörtyol State Hospital by ambulance for treatment.
The truck driver Şükrü K. was taken into custody by law enforcement authorities.
