Saskatoon police have arrested a 34-year-old man in connection to a break and enter and a suspected armed robbery on Thursday night. The incident occurred on the 200 block of Korol Crescent, where officers responded to a report of a break-in and possible robbery involving a firearm. One of the suspects fled the scene in a stolen vehicle, leading police on a high-speed chase that ended with the vehicle being abandoned after a collision. A search of the vehicle uncovered a loaded firearm, and with the help of a police service dog, the suspect was found hiding in a home under construction on Nightingale Road and taken into custody.

The 34-year-old man now faces a total of 15 charges related to the break and enter, robbery, firearms offenses, and evading police. Police also stated that the suspect was in violation of court-imposed conditions at the time of the incident. The arrest was made around 11:30 p.m. following a thorough search of the area, and the suspect is currently in police custody. The successful apprehension of the individual was credited to the quick response and coordinated efforts of the police officers involved in the case.

Authorities commended the police service dog for its assistance in locating the suspect, highlighting the importance of utilizing all available resources to ensure the safety and security of the community. The stolen vehicle was recovered after the collision, and investigators are working to gather any additional evidence that may shed light on the circumstances surrounding the break and enter and armed robbery. The 34-year-old man is expected to appear in court to face the charges brought against him, and further legal proceedings will determine the outcome of the case.

The incident serves as a reminder of the dangers posed by individuals engaging in criminal activities, particularly those involving firearms and violence. The swift response from law enforcement officials helped prevent further harm and led to the successful apprehension of the suspect. Residents in the area were urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities. The cooperation between community members and law enforcement is crucial in maintaining public safety and upholding the rule of law within the city of Saskatoon.

Overall, the arrest of the 34-year-old man marks a significant development in the ongoing investigation into the break and enter and suspected armed robbery. The charges laid against the suspect reflect the severity of the crimes committed and the potential risks posed to the community. Law enforcement officials are committed to pursuing justice and holding individuals accountable for their actions, while also working to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future. The collaboration between various agencies and units within the police force was instrumental in addressing the situation promptly and effectively, underscoring the importance of teamwork and coordination in law enforcement efforts.
