A 5.6 magnitude earthquake with its epicenter in the Sulusaray district was recorded yesterday evening at 18:11, according to information on the website of the Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD).
The earthquake was determined to be at a depth of 5.99 kilometers. Following the initial earthquake, four more earthquakes occurred at 21:43 with a magnitude of 4, at 22:31 with a magnitude of 4.4, and at 00:09 with a magnitude of 4.1.
Cracks formed on the road at the 6th kilometer between the district center and the Buğdaylı village as a result of the earthquakes felt in surrounding provinces.
Furthermore, residents who were unable to enter mosques in the district performed the Friday prayers in designated areas such as a field, school yard, and open spaces. The earthquakes have caused concern among the residents in the area.
