As a mother, Parker finds joy in guiding and loving her children, stating that being a mom has helped her grow as a person. She strives to instill qualities of independence, resilience, resourcefulness, and curiosity in her children, values she learned from her own mother. Kindness is a focal point for Parker, who believes that being kind and loving towards others reflects true beauty. She credits her mother for teaching her valuable life lessons that have shaped her into the woman and mother she is today.

Parker draws inspiration from her character Lisa Todd Wexley, also known as LTW, on the show And Just Like That. She incorporates LTW’s fashion advice in her own life, emphasizing the importance of not saving the dress and making bold fashion statements. Parker reflects on memorable scenes from the show, highlighting moments where LTW defied odds and obstacles with grace and confidence, showcasing the resilience and strength of Black women. Parker’s role on the show was seen as a positive step towards diversity in the predominantly white cast of Sex and the City.

The inclusion of Black women on And Just Like That was a welcome change for fans of the show, with Parker praising the decision to include diverse storylines and perspectives within the series. The show’s success led to a renewal for multiple seasons, with Parker set to return for season 3. The collaborative effort of the cast and crew, including Black women in the writers’ room, contributed to the show’s inclusive and authentic representation. Parker expressed her admiration for the entire team behind the scenes in making the show a success.

Reflecting on the importance of Black women representation in media, Parker discusses the historical significance of presentation and self-image for Black women. She relates the character moments in And Just Like That to the resilience and strength often displayed by Black women in overcoming obstacles and challenges. Parker’s portrayal on the show has been praised for its authenticity and depth, contributing to a more inclusive and diverse portrayal of women’s experiences in the media. Season 1 premiered in December 2021, with subsequent seasons following in 2023 and beyond.
