A lawsuit filed in Manhattan Supreme Court alleges that former NYPD inspector Timothy Pearson, who is already involved in a sexual harassment case, used his influence to secure lucrative migrant contracts from City Hall. Pearson allegedly asked employees of the unit overseeing city agencies, “where are my crumbs?” implying he wanted a piece of the contracts. This behavior was described as “incredibly awkward” by the employees, including Michael Ferrari, who subsequently referred to Pearson as “crumbs” behind his back.
Pearson’s entitlement and protection from City Hall allowed him to openly ask for his cut of city contracts in front of NYPD supervisors he barely knew. This sense of entitlement also led Pearson to believe he could sexually harass women in the office with impunity. The lawsuit filed by Ferrari is the second in as many months accusing Pearson of misconduct. Another former cop, Roxanne Ludemann, alleged that Pearson sabotaged her career after she rejected his sexual advances. Pearson’s alleged behavior was so bad that a department chief had to create a system to ensure he was never alone with women in the office.
Ferrari was allegedly tasked with ensuring that Pearson did not sexually harass women in the office. City Hall spokesperson Kayla Mamelak stated that they hold all public servants to the highest standards and will review the lawsuit. The lawsuit portrays Pearson as a braggadocious mayoral aide who used his power within the NYPD and other city agencies while working in an obscure unit that started at 375 Pearl St. One instance mentioned in the suit involved Pearson getting angry at a police sergeant for questioning why he was getting gas at a precinct, leading to the sergeant facing repercussions as a result.
