Moto GP racer mistakenly attempts to board the wrong bike in strange mishap following crash

A Moto3 GP rider, Ivan Ortola, got involved in an unfortunate mishap during a race at the Circuit of the Americas in Texas. Ortola collided with Stefano Nepa in Turn 15, causing both riders to fall to the ground. Nepa’s bike continued on without a rider and crashed into a barrier. Video footage showed Ortola attempting to chase down the renegade bike, much to the frustration of Nepa who yelled at Ortola to stay on his own bike. Ortola was forced to retire from the race, while Nepa managed to finish in 18th place.

Ivan Ortola, a Spanish rider, is currently fourth in the championship standings in Moto3, behind Joel Kelso. Ortola has two career victories in the Moto3 series. On the other hand, Stefano Nepa is in 10th place in the standings, behind Joel Esteban and ahead of Jacob Roulstone. Nepa is yet to secure a victory in 100 races. The race was won by David Alonso, who set a lap record in practice and managed to close the gap in the championship points to just two points behind the leader, Daniel Holgado. Holgado finished just ahead of Angel Piqueras by a mere 0.013 seconds.

In other race news, Sam Mayer narrowly edged out Ryan Sieg by 0.002 seconds to win the Xfinity Series race in Texas. Alonso’s win has positioned him just two points behind the current leader, Daniel Holgado. The close finish between Holgado and Angel Piqueras highlights the fierce competition among the riders in the Moto3 series.
