Lauren Boebert Proposes a Solution for Trump’s Trials to ‘Disappear’

Colorado Representative Lauren Boebert suggested that former President Donald Trump could make his legal challenges disappear by quitting his run for a second term in the White House. Trump is currently facing a hush-money trial in Manhattan Criminal Court, which is the first of four criminal indictments filed against him. Boebert, a Republican ally to Trump, argued that Trump’s campaign was being hindered by these legal challenges, which he believes are forms of election interference. Trump has maintained his innocence to all charges and continues to campaign for reelection despite the ongoing trials.

Several Trump supporters in Congress, including Georgia Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene and Florida Representative Byron Donalds, condemned the hush-money trial as a form of election interference. They argue that the trial is politically motivated and being used as a way to target Trump unfairly. Some users on X dismissed the idea that Trump’s legal challenges are politically motivated and suggested that he could simply plead guilty to save time and money. Boebert also faced criticism on social media for her comments, with some suggesting that she should focus on her own son’s criminal trial.

Trump’s defense team made requests for the former president to be excused from attending parts of the trial, including a day to attend a Supreme Court hearing on his presidential immunity claims and another to attend his youngest son’s high school graduation. The requests were denied by New York State Supreme Court Justice Juan Merchan, who insisted that Trump needed to be present for the trial. Trump expressed frustration at the decision, stating that it was playing into the hands of the radical left Democrats who want to keep him off the campaign trail.

Despite the ongoing trial, Trump has continued to campaign for reelection and has indicated that he plans to testify in his own defense. The trial has seen more than 50 potential jurors dismissed as both sides work to select a jury pool that can remain impartial. During a recent court appearance, Trump appeared to be “sleeping” in court, which was noted by reporters. However, Trump later appeared to glare at one reporter as he left the courthouse. The trial continues to be a focal point of Trump’s legal challenges as he faces multiple criminal indictments. President Joe Biden has reportedly not been watching coverage of Trump’s trial and has declined to comment on the matter, focusing instead on his presidential responsibilities.
