Ukraine’s military chief has issued a warning that the situation on the battlefield in the country’s industrial east has deteriorated in recent days, with Russian forces launching a fresh push along multiple stretches of the front line. Germany announced that it would deliver an additional Patriot air defense system to Ukraine following Russian attacks on infrastructure and power facilities, which left hundreds of thousands of homes without power. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz assured Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy that Berlin would stand firmly by Ukraine’s side in the face of the attacks.
