Investigation initiated regarding the cable car accident in Antalya

Justice Minister Yilmaz Tunc expressed his condolences for the person who lost their life in the incident where a cable car pole broke and one of the cabins fell while in motion on the Sarısu-Tünektepe cable car line. He also wished a speedy recovery to the injured citizens in a statement on his social media account.

Tunc stated that the efforts to rescue the citizens who were stranded in the cable car cabins were continuing with great care and sensitivity, with the priority being to reach the citizens as soon as possible. He mentioned that a criminal investigation has been initiated by the Antalya Public Prosecutor’s Office regarding the incident that saddened everyone. A team of 5 experts consisting of mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, and occupational health and safety specialists has been assigned to determine the cause of the accident and identify those responsible. The team is currently conducting examinations at the scene.

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced that civil inspectors have been appointed to investigate the cable car accident in Antalya Konyaaltı, where one person lost their life and 7 others were injured. Minister Yerlikaya reassured the public that they will be informed of any developments regarding the incident.
