The Turkish Red Crescent branch in Erzurum has been providing clothing to those in need at the Kızılay Boutique, which was opened five years ago with the support of donors and volunteers. Over 1500 needy families identified by the Red Crescent receive assistance, especially during Ramadan, with the boutique used for distributing clothing for the upcoming holiday.

Volunteers from the Red Crescent distribute the donated clothing to needy families, ensuring that children are able to celebrate the holiday with new outfits. From shoes to coats to shirts, a variety of items can be found at the boutique, allowing children to experience the joy of wearing new clothes during the Ramadan holiday.

Muhammet Tatar, the President of the Palandöken Red Crescent Branch, stated that donations have been provided to over 1500 families throughout the month of Ramadan, with preparations for the holiday clothing also completed. He emphasized the importance of continuing to serve tirelessly and without rest to help those in need, particularly focusing on orphaned children.

Tatar mentioned that the tradition of dressing up children for the holiday has become a staple during the Eid celebrations, with over 1500 children receiving holiday clothing. Families in need visit the Kızılay Boutique, where they can select clothing for themselves and their children as if they were shopping in a regular store. Additional support is provided by the branch to supplement the donations received from the headquarters.

Gönül Tanrıkulu, the President of the Women’s Association, highlighted the ongoing relief efforts carried out in the field with the help of donors, including the distribution of clothing to orphaned children. Volunteer Hatice Şentürk shared her pride in continuing to work at the Red Crescent Boutique after initially assisting with earthquake relief efforts in Kahramanmaraş. She emphasized the importance of delivering donations from generous individuals to those in need.

Emine Batur, a volunteer at the branch for the past seven months, expressed her joy in witnessing the smiles on the faces of orphaned children when they receive new clothing. The volunteers at the Kızılay Boutique play a crucial role in ensuring that donations reach those who need them and help spread happiness during the holiday season. Through the collective efforts of donors, volunteers, and the Red Crescent, the community in Erzurum is able to come together to support those less fortunate during Ramadan and beyond.
