Access to Kalamoir Regional Park and Mission Creek Regional Park in the Central Okanagan will be temporarily limited next week. In Kalamoir Regional Park, the Casa Loma entrance will be closed for one day for repairs to a fence and a retaining wall. However, the park’s three remaining entrances will remain open for visitors to enjoy. In Mission Creek Regional Park, temporary parking lot closures will take place as new entrance gates are installed. The Durnin Road entrance will be closed in the morning, followed by the Leckie Road entrance in the afternoon. Signage and barricades will be in place to guide visitors, and it is advised to follow construction signs and directions during this time.

These temporary closures are part of maintenance and improvement projects in Kalamoir Regional Park and Mission Creek Regional Park. In Kalamoir, repairs to a fence and retaining wall are necessary to ensure the safety and functionality of the park. The closure of the Casa Loma entrance is a proactive measure to address these issues and provide a better experience for visitors. Similarly, the installation of new entrance gates in Mission Creek Regional Park signifies an effort to enhance the park’s infrastructure and accessibility. These projects aim to contribute to the overall quality and enjoyment of the parks for both residents and visitors.

During the temporary closures of the Casa Loma entrance in Kalamoir Regional Park and the Durnin Road and Leckie Road entrances in Mission Creek Regional Park, visitors are encouraged to utilize the remaining entrances to access the parks. Collens Hill Road, Sunnyside Road, and King Road will remain open in Kalamoir Regional Park, providing alternative entry points for park visitors. Additionally, signage and barricades will be in place to guide visitors and ensure their safety during the closures. It is important for visitors to follow these instructions and respect construction signs and directions for their own well-being and the progress of the projects.

The regional district of Central Okanagan manages a total of 30 parks, including Kalamoir Regional Park and Mission Creek Regional Park. Visitors are encouraged to explore the diverse landscapes and amenities that these parks have to offer, while respecting any temporary closures or construction activities that may be taking place.

In conclusion, the temporary closures of the Casa Loma entrance in Kalamoir Regional Park and the Durnin Road and Leckie Road entrances in Mission Creek Regional Park reflect the ongoing efforts to maintain and enhance these popular regional district parks in the Central Okanagan. These projects are necessary for the safety, functionality, and enjoyment of the parks, and visitors are encouraged to use alternative entrances and follow signage and directions during the closures.
