Vince Carter and Chauncey Billups are the stars of this Basketball Hall of Fame class

The Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame welcomed a new class, including basketball icons Vince Carter and Chauncey Billups, along with other notable figures such as former Lakers executive Jerry West, players Seimone Augustus, Michael Cooper, Walter Davis, Dick Barnett, and Michele Timms, coaches Charles Smith, Harley Redin, and Bo Ryan, broadcaster/coach Doug Collins, and owner Herb Simon. The class of 2024 will be enshrined in August in Springfield, Massachusetts. Carter, known for his high-flying dunks, was an eight-time All-Star and NBA Rookie of the Year in 1999. He played a record-breaking 22 seasons in the NBA with various teams and finished with 25,728 points, ranking 21st in league history. Billups, a clutch guard and NBA Finals MVP for the Detroit Pistons, enjoyed a successful career as a five-time All-Star and won an NBA championship in 2004.

Jerry West, an NBA legend, was inducted into the Hall of Fame as a contributor. The 14-time All-Star was previously inducted as a player in 1980 and spent over 20 years as an executive for the Lakers, helping the team win eight championships. West also served as a general manager for the Memphis Grizzlies and worked as an executive for the Golden State Warriors. Seimone Augustus, a four-time WNBA champion with the Minnesota Lynx, was also inducted. The LSU alum is 13th in WNBA history with 6,005 career points. The diverse class of inductees represents a range of contributions to the sport of basketball, from players and coaches to executives and broadcasters.

Vince Carter, known for his longevity in the game and ability to compete with players half his age, was recognized for his impact on basketball over more than two decades. He played college basketball at North Carolina under the legendary coach Dean Smith before embarking on a successful NBA career.
