There’s nothing better than a good meal, especially when you don’t have far to travel.

As part of their third-annual Global Tastemakers awards, Food & Wine reached out to more than 400 chefs, writers and travel pros to get their insight on the best restaurants in America.

The outlet compiled a list including restaurants the experts loved or would recommend to visiting family and friends — and New York is home to three of the top 15 restaurants named.

Coming in third place overall is The Musket Room in Nolita in New York City. Located at 265 Elizabeth Street, the Michelin-starred restaurant has a long wood bar that winds back to a leafy patio.

Their $125 tasting menu has both omnivorous and vegan options with dishes inspired by the heritage and travels of Chefs Mary Attea and Camari Mick — both of whom have been James Beard Award semifinalists for several years running.

Heading upstate to Pine Plains, New York, Stissing House — one of the oldest taverns in America with a history dating back to 1782 — came in 10th place. The cozy restaurant features a fireplace and a cozy candlelit dining room.

The menu by 2018 F&W Best New Chef Clare de Boer changes daily with simple dishes such as pickles, chips or a cup of broth, as well as more elaborate dishes roasted over wood fire, such as dayboat scallops cooked over the coals.

In 12th place is a raw bar and seafood counter in New York City’s East Village. Penny is a restaurant that comes from the same team behind Claud, the wine-focused restaurant right below it.

Rather than fancy seafood towers, chef Joshua Pinsky serves “ice boxes,” metal trays filled with pebble ice and full of oysters, razor clams, scallop crudo and mussels escabeche. The menu also features a live Maine lobster poached to order as well as an ice cream sandwich on soft brioche bread.

My Loup – Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Myriel – Saint Paul, Minnesota

Stissing House – Pine Plains, New York

Nancy’s Hustle – Houston, Texas

Penny – New York, New York

Sunny’s – Miami, Florida

Virtue – Chicago, Illinois

Oyster Oyster – Washington, D.C.
