rewrite this title Plane passenger shares hack to get week’s worth of clothes through security — without using a bag

Airlines hate to see this coming.

A nifty jacket that can hold enough personal items for a week-long vacation is being declared the ultimate travel hack.

The coat costs a considerable $288, but it ultimately saves jetsetters money on checked luggage and flights that charge for carry-on.

The garment is produced by Wear to Fly and made with marine plastic, which allows wearers to pack their belongings in concealed interior pouches.

Once filled, the garment looks like a typical winter puffer coat when worn at the airport.

In a recent clip posted to TikTok, the company boldly declared that “Ryanair hates this jacket,” demonstrating how a week’s worth of clothing fits inside the 14 interior pockets, allows travelers to go through security checkpoints with ease and easily slides underneath the seat during the flight.

The product received rave reviews online from TikTokkers, who praised the hack for getting around pesky fees.

“BRAVO!! This is when our intelligence stands against (bad) rules!!” one commenter said.

“Walking through the airport has now turned into a workout wearing every item you take with you including shoes etc and costs nearly 300,” joked one user.

“I’d feel like a spy with secret gadgets in my pockets,” one person wrote on Reddit.

However, not everyone was impressed.

“Wouldn’t hold my stuff for 7/10 day trip..maybe would work for an overnighter,” one critic quipped.

“If you actually fill it up with clothes, it is not going to look like a nice puffer. It is going to look like random rectangular lumps and wrinkled up wads,” critiqued another. “Plus, filled with 15lbs like they claim, sounds really heavy for a jacket.”

The product’s buzz comes after years of travelers attempting to skirt excess fees for baggage on flights.

One flyer utilized his pockets and even his socks to store items for a flight, while another donned multiple layers of clothes — although she still incurred a fine.

Other travelers have attempted workarounds like disguising personal items in duty free bags or making multiple pieces of luggage look like it’s one.

This year, Air Canada joined the ranks of Frontier and Ryanair by announcing fees associated with carry-on baggage.

According to previous reports, basic-economy ticket holders will incur a $25 fee for a carry-on larger than a purse or backpack. For an additional piece of luggage, it’s $36.
