Bebe Rexha said she’s “very aware” that she’s “gained weight” after a troll told her that she looks like she “ate Lizzo.”
“Number one, I am unbothered. Number two, I’m very aware of everything. I know I gained weight,” the Grammy nominated singer said in a TikTok video shared Thursday.
“I know that I’ve been through a lot,” she went on to say, before adding, “I don’t want you to feel bad for me because I promise you I feel stronger than ever.”
Rexha was responding to a viral comment that a hater left during her Instagram Live earlier in the week.
“Yeah somebody said I look like Marilyn Monroe after she ate Lizzo,” the 35-year-old said during the live clip, to which a person off-camera gasped in response.
Rexha’s friends encouraged her to watch the viral clip when she returned from a recent trip to Dubai and then noticed the comment.
The pop musician later took to the comments of her TikTok to clarify that she wasn’t shading Lizzo, 36.
“BTW LIZZO LOOKS AMAZING,” Rexha said of the “Truth Hurts” singer, who has recently shown off her slimmer figure.
Elsewhere in the video, Rexha discussed feeling “more powerful” despite not getting “the recognition” she believes she deserves.
“I know that people know my songs but don’t know me. And I haven’t gotten the recognition I’ve deserved,” she said.
“But instead of letting all that just break me down, it’s actually made me feel more powerful,” Rexha continued.
She captioned the reaction clip, “2025 is gonna be different ✨ 💖.”
Rexha previously discussed feeling “anxious” about appearing at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards due to her physical appearance.
“I am so anxious and stressed about going on the red carpet and … people talking about my weight, because I am not really loving myself right now,” she said in a since-deleted TikTok video shared in September 2023.
The “I’m Good (Blue)” co-hitmaker then added that she was not “feeling so confident” and didn’t feel “like the bad bitch” that she “usually is.”
Earlier that year, Rexha appeared on “The Jennifer Hudson Show” and revealed that she had gained 30 pounds after being diagnosed with PCOS.
“I went to the doctor last year — and a lot of women actually have this and they don’t know about it — but they diagnosed [me] with PCOS, which is polycystic ovary syndrome,” she said at the time.
“I literally jumped, like, 30 pounds so quickly, maybe a little bit more. But we gotta just be positive and just show people love.”
A few days later, Rexha took to social media once more to reveal that her PCOS had caused a cyst to burst which put her in urgent care.
