A first-time United Airlines passenger was taken aback after experiencing a major dip in food quality from one flight to the next, which she detailed in a Reddit post taking off online.
“New to this airline so not sure how reliable the meal service [is], but with an airline as big and fancy as United I’m surprised [at] the downgrade in quality from one week to the next,” griped the Redditor.
She also included pics juxtaposing the two meals back-to-back.
The passenger was reportedly discussing an inflight meal she ordered on United Flight 1483 from Seattle to Denver on January 20, which she deemed a departure from what she ate aboard the same flight on January 13.
On both flights, the flyer had pasta with sauce and cheese, a side salad, and a cup of Magnolia Bakery-brand Banana Pudding — with the only difference being a bread roll on flight two.
However, while the first noodle dish appeared edible enough, the sequel entailed a pile of unrecognizable slop that looked ladled straight from a pig trough, as seen in the pics.
“I’d proudly give up my roll this week for the pasta of last week,” lamented the revolted passenger.
Redditors were similarly appalled over the dish differential.
“Your pasta is looking very flat today,” commented one, while another wrote, “Can’t there be a NSFE (not safe for eating) warning on the second image? Yeeesh.”
“Did you throw it up a week later for the second picture?” quipped a third.
A United flight attendant even weighed in on the meal ordeal, declaring: “As an FA it’s always embarrassing to serve this food. Please provide feedback to the company!! They never listen to us FAs.”
This isn’t the first inflight meal to have viewers reaching for their figurative airplane barf bags.
