Profar is coming off of the best season in his MLB career as a .280 hitter with 24 home runs and 85 RBI. He produced 3.6 WAR last year with the San Diego Padres and showed he can be a difference-maker on many occasions.Profar is projected to receive a two-year contract worth $25.8 million. Given how he performed in 2024, this contract would almost be a steal for a team like the Mets. Adding him could give the team one of the best outfield trios in Major League Baseball.Baseball Savant showed that Profar was in the 94th percentile for batting run value. His defensive skills aren’t the strongest, but his offensive production makes up for it.The Mets have Starling Marte, Jose Siri and Tyrone Taylor currently on the roster.
