Report: Liam Payne’s psychiatrist recommended a ‘higher level of care’ shortly before his passing

Liam Payne’s psychiatrist decided to stop treating him weeks before his sudden death. She determined that he needed a “higher level of care” that she couldn’t provide, leading her to end their professional relationship. However, despite this decision, she advised Payne to continue with a treatment plan, including taking medications as prescribed and avoiding heavy drinking. She also recommended weekly therapy sessions and additional testing to be done.

The former psychiatrist urged Payne to regularly speak to a therapist in order to process his depression and trauma, emphasizing the importance of managing his mental health care properly. She provided him with a list of rehab facilities and doctors that could assist him on his journey towards well-being. Despite cutting ties with Payne, she expressed her well wishes for him in his continued journey toward mental health and recovery.

Tragically, Payne fell to his death from the balcony of his hotel room in Buenos Aires, Argentina, fracturing his skull and suffering fatal injuries. A toxicology report showed that he had multiple drugs in his system at the time of his death. Subsequently, five people have been charged in connection to his passing at the South American hotel. The individuals charged include hotel employees as well as Payne’s friend who made the 911 call before his death.

Specifically, the hotel manager, receptionist, and the singer’s friend have been charged with manslaughter, while two other employees have been charged with supplying drugs to Payne. It was revealed that Payne was known to struggle with addiction, which may have played a role in the drugs found in his system. Despite the tragic circumstances surrounding his death, Payne was eventually laid to rest in the UK, with his funeral attended by his former One Direction bandmates and his girlfriend Kate Cassidy.

The details surrounding Payne’s death shed light on the importance of mental health care and addiction treatment. The decision to end his psychiatric treatment prior to his death raises questions about the effectiveness of the care he was receiving and the level of support provided to individuals battling mental health issues. The charges filed against those connected to his death highlight the serious consequences of supplying drugs and the role that substance abuse can play in tragic incidents like this one. By sharing Payne’s story, there is an opportunity to advocate for improved mental health resources and addiction support services to prevent similar tragedies from occurring in the future.
