A fire broke out in an entertainment center on the -1st floor of a 16-story building on Yıldız Posta Street in Esentepe neighborhood of Gayrettepe yesterday around 1:00 p.m. According to reports, an explosion occurred next to the stage during renovations. The explosion engulfed the entertainment center in flames. At the time, both the club and the building’s occupants were trapped inside.
Upon notification of the incident, numerous fire, ambulance, and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. 29 people lost their lives in the fire. An investigation has been launched into the incident, and the deceased bodies were taken to the morgue of Prof. Dr. Cemil Taşcıoğlu City Hospital.
Footage of the fire extinguished by the Istanbul Fire Department shows severe damage inside the nightclub. A total of 9 suspects, including the business owners, responsible manager, operations manager, accountant, as well as some individuals responsible for the renovation work were taken into custody as part of the investigation.
The identities of the deceased in the fire have been revealed. Some of the victims include fathers, sons, and workers who were involved in the renovation process. Kadir Orhanoğlu, Ahmet Uzun, Ahmet Kartal, Barış Güngör, and many others lost their lives in this tragic incident.
Two injured individuals are currently receiving medical treatment. The authorities continue to investigate the cause of the fire and any potential negligence that may have led to this devastating loss of life. The community mourns the loss of these individuals and hopes for justice to be served in the aftermath of this tragedy.
