She was just winging it.
An “anxious” Alaska Airlines flyer dramatically opened the emergency exit of the plane and climbed onto the wing after Flight 323 landed and reached the gate in a bizarre scene in Seattle on Sunday.
Passengers were beginning to exit the commercial aircraft around 5 p.m. when the unidentified woman couldn’t wait any longer to deboard at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport after the plane got in from Milwaukee, according to a report.
“During deplaning of the aircraft a passenger on board became anxious and opened the emergency exit over the wing. The woman climbed out onto the wing,” a spokesperson for the Port of Seattle told KIRO 7.
Firefighters responded and retrieved the woman off the wing, and a police crisis team then determined the woman needed to go to the hospital for a medical evaluation, the spokesperson told the station.
Alaska Airlines confirmed the incident involving a “disruptive guest” was resolved safely.
“We are working with our crew and airport officials to gather more details about what may have transpired,” the airline told KIRO 7.
“We thank our employees for their swift response and apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused our guests.”
