New Superstars Making Debut on SmackDown Thanks to WWE ID

The WWE Independent Development (WWE ID) program is an exciting new initiative that serves as a direct pathway from independent wrestling promotions to WWE. This program aims to support independent wrestlers in their developmental journey and provide them with world-class training, development, and mentorship. The introduction of WWE ID has been met with enthusiasm by wrestling fans, as it offers a unique opportunity to follow the paths of standout prospects on the independent wrestling scene. Four professional wrestlers have already been introduced on the WWE ID X account, including Zayda Steel, Bryce Donovan, Cappuccino Jones, and Jack Summit, with more wrestlers being announced on Friday Night SmackDown.

On a recent episode of SmackDown, William Regal went behind the scenes to inform two wrestlers, Marcus Mathers and Sam Hardway Holloway, that they were now a part of the WWE ID program. Both wrestlers were scouted from independent wrestling promotions and appeared grateful for the opportunity. Mathers, who hails from Game Changer Wrestling (GCW), has competed in various promotions such as AEW Rampage and PROGRESS Wrestling. Holloway, on the other hand, was scouted from International Wrestling Cartel (IWC) and has wrestled for Beyond Wrestling and Freelance Wrestling, among others. The addition of Mathers and Holloway to the WWE ID program further expands the pool of talented wrestlers who have the potential to make it to WWE.

In addition to Mathers and Holloway, two other wrestlers were announced earlier in the day on WWE ID’s X account. Zara Zakher, also known as “The Petite Powerhouse,” was scouted from Millenium Pro Wrestling (MPW) and has competed in various promotions such as West Coast Pro Wrestling, Tokyo Joshi Pro-Wrestling, and New Japan Pro-Wrestling Academy Showcase. Sean Legacy, who was scouted from Pro Wrestling Revolution/NOAH, has also wrestled in promotions like Viral Pro Wrestling and Southern Honor Wrestling. The inclusion of Zakher and Legacy in the WWE ID program highlights the diversity of talent that WWE is looking to recruit from the independent wrestling scene.

The WWE Recruit website describes WWE ID as a program designed to provide independent wrestlers with a clear pathway to a potential career in WWE. Following the success of WWE’s NIL program, WWE ID aims to support independent wrestling prospects and schools with enhanced developmental opportunities. The program will identify top independent wrestling prospects with an official ‘WWE ID Prospect’ designation and support their developmental journey. Fans will have the opportunity to follow the paths of these standout prospects through curated behind-the-scenes content, highlights, and matches showcased across WWE’s social platforms.

Overall, the introduction of WWE ID marks a significant milestone in the professional wrestling industry, offering independent wrestlers a unique opportunity to transition to WWE. With the support of world-class training, development, and mentorship, talented wrestlers from independent promotions have the chance to showcase their skills on a larger platform. The addition of wrestlers like Marcus Mathers, Sam Hardway Holloway, Zara Zakher, and Sean Legacy to the WWE ID program further validates the success of this initiative. As WWE continues to expand its roster and provide opportunities for emerging talent, fans can look forward to seeing these standout prospects shine in the world of professional wrestling.
