Week 11 2024 College Football predictions: Bet on Oregon to take an early lead, and Iowa to cover

Geoff Schwartz, a football analyst and former NFL lineman, provides his best wagering tips for the Week 11 college football games in his latest analysis for FOX Sports. Schwartz, who played for the Ducks and is always keen on supporting his former team, shares his insights on games involving Oregon, Colorado, and Iowa – the latter of which he claims has a better offense than most presume.

Schwartz anticipates the Buffaloes unstoppable offense will be too much for the Texas Tech Red Raiders when they collide. Regardless of their field advantage, Schwartz points out that the Raiders will fail to put pressure on Colorado’s wide receiving options and lack the skill to cover them. Despite Texas Tech’s recent improvement in their defense, they notably rank low in defensive points per drive, pressure rate, and havoc rate. He ultimately predicts Colorado to score over 33.5 points.

Regarding the matchup between Maryland and Oregon, Schwartz views Oregon as the best team nationwide, with minimal weaknesses and a unique gaming style. He believes Oregon will take the lead early but tend to ease in the second half, especially when leading by several touchdowns. Maryland, despite coming off a bye, may struggle to generate explosive plays or effectively run the ball. Hence, Schwartz recommends betting on Oregon to cover the first half against Maryland, predicting a score of -14.5 for the Ducks.

Homing in on the game between Iowa and UCLA, Schwartz draws attention to Iowa’s impressive offensive performance this season, ranking 45th in points per game and 28th in rushing yards thanks to Kaleb Johnson’s outstanding 7.52 yards per attempt. The replacement of the quarterback, Brendan Sullivan, has paid off with his superior agility and a stronger arm, revitalizing the team’s offensive strategy. However, Schwartz notes that UCLA’s recent strong performances against Rutgers and Nebraska will not be enough to defeat Iowa’s robust defense.

Further to Schwartz’s analysis, UCLA’s head coach, Deshaun Watson will face his first short week on-field challenge, and Schwartz thinks Iowa will be better prepared. Additionally, UCLA significantly trumps Iowa in the penalty game, ranking 121st compared to Iowa’s 4th position. Ultimately, Schwartz believes that Iowa will secure a clear win and predicts victory by more than 6 points.

Overall, Schwartz’s tips serve as a guide for any college football fans and his insights provide advice for those keen to place a winning wager. His experiences as a former player give him a unique perspective on the game, making his predictions not just educated guesses, but informed perspectives drawn from personal understanding of the game.
