Adalet Kaya, a mother of three, said she went to buy bread with her daughter on October 29 and saw the flag hanging on a wall in the neighborhood.
Kaya explained that her daughter Ayşegül asked her, “Mom, can I kiss the flag?” and she replied that she could. She also called me, saying, ‘Mom, come and kiss the flag.’ So I went and kissed our flag. Then we bought bread and returned home. Our flag has a special place in our hearts. The flag symbolizes homeland, nation, and love. I cannot describe the emotions we felt that day. Our flag is our flag, and our children also love their flag very much. My husband and I make an effort to raise them as good children for our country and nation.
Six-year-old Ayşenur, who said she loves the flag very much, said, “That day, I ran to kiss the flag, and I told my mom to come and kiss it too. She came and kissed the flag. Then we bought bread and returned home. I have a dress with the Turkish flag on it. My brothers bought it, but it will be mine when they grow up. I love my country and my flag very much. When I grow up, I will become a police officer.”
