Former President Trump and Vice President Harris’ presidential campaigns and their allies have collectively spent over $538 million in advertising dollars in the critical battleground state of Pennsylvania ahead of Election Day. This makes Pennsylvania the most expensive battleground state, with Democrats spending over $294.7 million and Republicans spending $243.6 million. The candidates and their running mates have visited Pennsylvania a total of 76 times since January, with Trump focusing on Rust Belt towns and Harris prioritizing population hubs. Harris and her allies have spent over $123.7 million on Pennsylvania’s airwaves, while Democratic PACs and issue groups have bought $171 million worth of ads supporting Harris.

Of Trump’s 25 campaign visits to Pennsylvania, 18 have been outside of Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, with a focus on blue-collar and union members concerned about issues such as the border, fracking, and manufacturing. In recent weeks, Trump has shifted his strategy to target undecided voters in the suburbs of Philadelphia, with the assistance of his running mate, Senator JD Vance. Harris, on the other hand, has prioritized visits to population hubs such as Philadelphia and its suburbs, as well as smaller towns. The strategy for both campaigns has been to campaign everywhere and not take any voters for granted.

Harris and her allies have focused on Philadelphia’s media market, outspending Trump and his allies on streaming, cable, digital, and radio ads. Trump’s campaign spent $52.5 million on advertising in Pennsylvania, with super PACs supporting him spending an additional $191.2 million in the battleground state. The top presidential candidates and their running mates have collectively visited Pennsylvania 76 times since January, with the majority of visits occurring since the beginning of August. Trump’s campaign has targeted blue-collar and union voters, while Harris has focused on population hubs and smaller towns.

Overall, Pennsylvania has seen a significant amount of advertising spending from both campaigns and their allies, with Pennsylvania being the most expensive battleground state. Trump and Harris have both made multiple visits to the state since January, with a focus on different key demographics and regions. Harris and her allies have outspent Trump and his allies on various ad mediums in the state. The campaigns have taken a comprehensive approach to campaigning in Pennsylvania, targeting various voter groups and regions to secure votes in the critical battleground state.
