The President of Sinop Abalı Fishery Products Cooperative, Ömer Tuncer, stated that there has never been such intense bonito hunting around Sinop this season. Tuncer emphasized that the coastal fishermen were pleased with the 2,000 crates of bonito they caught. He said, “There is abundance of bonito this season. There wasn’t much fishing around Sinop, but thankfully today the faces of coastal fishermen are smiling for the first time. Hopefully we will try to sell them by sending them outside. The public’s interest in bonito also continues. Because it is now time to salt them. They shouldn’t miss this opportunity.”
Tuncer added that the abundance of bonito will continue as long as the weather conditions are suitable.
