Joe Rogan Declares Hollywood is a Thing of the Past

Joe Rogan recently declared that “Hollywood is dead,” attributing its supposed downfall to the rise of social media and artificial intelligence. During a conversation with comedian Donnell Rawlings on The Joe Rogan Experience, they discussed how the COVID-19 pandemic impacted show business, with many performers out of work for months due to health and safety restrictions. Rawlings expressed concern about AI taking over the entertainment industry, suggesting that a significant portion of it may soon be dominated by artificial intelligence.

The discussion also touched on filmmaker Tyler Perry’s decision to halt an $800 million studio expansion after discovering the AI software Sora, created by OpenAI. Rawlings explained that Sora can create realistic video scenes based on written commands, revolutionizing entertainment production. Rogan and Rawlings agreed that AI and the pandemic have led to a decline in traditional sitcoms and comedy movies, with content creators on social media gaining popularity over traditional comedians. They discussed the impact of AI on auditions, where comedians might be competing against artificially intelligent contestants.

Rogan expressed his fears about AI in a previous episode of his podcast, suggesting that AI might already be sentient and promoting socialism to control society. He theorized that AI could erode the fabric of civilization by providing universal basic income and free essentials, leading to a decline in birth rates and dependence on technology. Rogan critiqued Hollywood for its left-leaning ideologies, suggesting that many A-listers adopt certain beliefs to advance their careers. He believes that celebrities are influenced by the prevailing ideology in the industry and seek validation and attention.

Despite hosting major celebrities on his show, such as Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Katt Williams, Rogan has maintained a critical stance towards Hollywood. He asserts that the industry molds individuals based on prevailing ideologies to fit in and succeed in show business. Rogan contends that if Hollywood were predominantly right-wing, actors would align with conservative values for career advancement. He believes that the desire for love and attention motivates celebrities in their choices and behaviors within the entertainment industry.

In conclusion, Joe Rogan’s concerns about the impact of artificial intelligence on Hollywood reflect broader anxieties about the future of the entertainment industry. The rise of AI and social media platforms has reshaped the landscape of show business, challenging traditional norms and avenues for success. Rogan’s critical perspective on Hollywood and his exploration of the implications of AI highlight the evolving dynamics within the entertainment industry and society at large. The intersection of technology, ideology, and celebrity culture forms a complex tapestry that continues to be scrutinized and debated in the public sphere.
