Alison Sweeney and More ‘Days of Our Lives’ Cast Members Pay Tribute to Drake Hogestyn Following His Passing

The soap world is in mourning as Drake Hogestyn, known for his role as John Black on Days of Our Lives since 1986, passed away just one day before his 70th birthday. His family confirmed his death due to pancreatic cancer, describing him as an incredible husband, father, papa, and actor who faced his illness with strength and determination. The Days of Our Lives community, including his costars, shared heartfelt tributes to the beloved actor, remembering him as a mentor, friend, and kind soul who brought positivity and joy to everyone around him.

Ken Corday, the executive producer of Days of Our Lives, expressed the deep impact Hogestyn had on the show and the entire cast and crew. Stephen Nichols, who worked closely with Hogestyn on the show, remembered him as a man with a huge heart, kindness, and honesty. Susan Seaforth, another long-time cast member, described Hogestyn as an easy-going hero and a buddy to all, highlighting his dedication to his work and his love for his fans and fellow castmates. Alison Sweeney, who shared many scenes with Hogestyn over the years, praised him as an incredible man who cared deeply about his work and the people around him.

Christie Clark, who played Hogestyn’s onscreen daughter, shared how he had a profound impact on her life, both on and off set.
