The majority of the country will experience rainy weather, accompanied by a drop in temperatures, according to the General Directorate of Meteorology. It is estimated that temperatures will decrease by 4 to 8 degrees along the northern coasts and by 12 to 15 degrees in the inland areas. Cold weather is expected to affect Marmara, Northern and Inner Aegean, the western part of the West Black Sea, and the western part of Inner Anatolia on Monday, the eastern part of Inner Anatolia and Central Black Sea on Tuesday, Eastern Anatolia and East Black Sea on Wednesday, with the weather leaving the country on Thursday. No significant changes in temperature are expected in the southern parts of the country.

In Istanbul, strong local showers are expected during the night hours. The Istanbul Region Forecast and Early Warning Center of Meteorology’s 1st Region Directorate announced that strong local showers and thunderstorms are expected in the city starting from late night hours today. The predicted local showers, lasting until tomorrow morning, may result in flooding, lightning, transportation disruptions, strong winds during rainfall, and small-scale hail, so caution and preparedness are advised.

Storm warning for the Black Sea, Mediterranean, and Aegean Seas. According to the forecast issued by the General Directorate of Meteorology, strong winds in the West Black Sea will blow between west and northwest in the morning tomorrow, transitioning to southwest in the east, reaching speeds of 6 to 8 on the Beaufort scale, locally becoming strong storms. The storm will weaken on Tuesday evening in the west and on Wednesday evening in general. In the Eastern Black Sea, winds blowing from the west and northwest at speeds of 6 to 8 will be effective until Tuesday afternoon.

Met Office issues a yellow-coded warning for 16 provinces including Balıkesir, Bilecik, Bolu, Bursa, Istanbul, Kastamonu, Kırklareli, Kocaeli, Sakarya, Sinop, Tekirdağ, Zonguldak, Bartın, Yalova, Karabük, and Düzce due to expected rainfall. Residents are advised to take precautions against potential adverse effects of the rainfall in these provinces.
