Bakan Uraloğlu recently conducted inspections at the Bursa High-Speed Train Site as part of the Bandırma-Bursa-Yenişehir-Osmaneli High-Speed Train Line Project. He mentioned that this project covers a distance of 201 kilometers, starting from the town of Osmaneli in Bilecik and ending in the town of Bandırma in Balıkesir. He stated that administrative issues regarding the 106-kilometer section of Bursa and its center have been resolved, allowing construction to proceed smoothly. Progress has been made in laying down tracks, with tunnels being completed and no major obstacles in sight. It is expected that the construction will be completed by the end of 2025, followed by testing and certification before the 106-kilometer section is put into service.
The transportation network of Bursa is set to strengthen with the completion of this challenging project, which includes 7 stations, 23 tunnels, 12 escape or safety tunnels, 15 cut-and-cover tunnels, 34 railway bridges, 15 viaducts, 92 underpasses, 53 overpasses, and 208 culverts. Uraloğlu emphasized that the project aims to reduce travel time between Ankara and Bursa or Istanbul to 2 hours and 15 minutes and 1 hour and 15 minutes, respectively. Furthermore, the project will establish a vital link between various cities such as Sivas, Mersin, Adana, and Osmaniye, extending to the Fav Port in Iraq and connecting to the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars line. Several ongoing projects are part of this initiative, with the first phase focusing on the completion of the 106-kilometer section by 2025.
In addition to the high-speed train project, Uraloğlu also discussed the progress on the 29-kilometer-long Northern Ring Road Project in Bursa. Preparations for this project are expected to be completed by the end of next year, followed by the commencement of construction. He also addressed the developments related to the Çalı Road, stating that it was not originally within the responsibility of the Highways Department. However, alternative routes were established, leading to improved traffic flow. Uraloğlu highlighted the collaboration between the previous administration and the current administration to resolve issues related to the road and emphasized the importance of honoring agreements and commitments for the successful completion of projects.
Regarding the purchase of metro vehicles in Bursa, Uraloğlu mentioned that the previous administration had made decisions to acquire 68 metro vehicles, which are not under the responsibility of his ministry. He clarified that the Ministry is responsible for the acquisition of 44 metro vehicles for the Emek-City Hospital Line, with plans to use them in the entire system. The initial phase of acquiring 20 vehicles for the Emek-City Hospital Metro Line has already begun, and the remaining vehicles will be acquired as needed to meet the transportation needs of Bursa. Uraloğlu emphasized the importance of adhering to agreements and taking responsibility for the successful implementation of transportation projects in the city.
