Malik Nabers Creates History Along with Ten Other Remarkable Statistics from Week 3

The third week of the NFL season showed a round of remarkable performances from several players. Among the highlights was an impressive performance from Giants’ wide receiver, Malik Nabers, the youngest player in NFL history to snag two receiving touchdowns in a single game, and the first to have 20 receptions, 250 receiving yards, and three receiving touchdowns in his initial three career games. Other notable showings included the “honey badger” recording his second interception this season and the Steelers emerging 3-0.

A change of team seems to be doing Malik Willis of the Packers some good. Previously recording unimpressive stats with the Titans, Willis is now 2-0 with 324 pass yards, two pass touchdowns, no interceptions, and a 76% completion rate with the Packers. He fills a significant role in the team, leading the league in pass yards per attempt and yards per rush. Highly-anticipated quarterback Sam Darnold also showcased his skills, throwing multiple touchdown passes in three consecutive games for the first time in his career.

Other players also have managed to fill critical spots left vacant by injured or absent teammates. San Francisco 49ers player, Jauan Jennings, proved his worth, recording 11 receptions for 175 yards and three touchdown catches. Some of his stunning numbers match hall of famers like Jerry Rice and Terrell Owens. Meanwhile, Matthew Stafford of the Rams made his mark with his 48th game-winning drive in the fourth quarter or overtime in a thrilling match against the 49ers.

Groundbreaking duo Derrick Henry and Lamar Jackson of Baltimore’s game against Dallas dominated the round. Henry, joining the ranks of legendary players Jim Brown and LaDainian Tomlinson, ended the day with 151 rush yards and two rushing scores, while also making history by having 14 career games with 150 rush yards. Baltimore’s quarterback, Lamar Jackson, equally impressive, added 87 rush yards and a rush score to the tally and lead the team in rushing for a fifth consecutive season.

A three-point score game against the Seahawks saw Miami become the only league team not to lead at any point in regulation in a game this season. Their total of 205 offensive yards against the Seahawks marked the lowest under the Mike McDaniel era. Struggling Carolina, on the other hand, won favor by introducing former bench-warmer Andy Dalton in a game, raking in all three of his touchdown passes in the first half alone.

Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs made history by recording his 77th career win as a starting quarterback, surpassing Tom Brady and Roger Staubach and emerging as the quarterback with the most wins after 100 starts. His win was a testament to his prowess and marked a talented set of 3-0 quarterbacks this season, which includes Sam Darnold, Geno Smith, and Justin Fields.
