Drowned in the dam lake he went to fish

Three friends, S.A., M.E.S., and İ.A., went fishing at the Yamula Dam Lake in the Hırka Mahallesi region. They used a small rocky area about 50 meters from the shore to reach a small island. As it got dark, they decided to head back to the shore.

S.A. lost his balance and fell into the water, disappearing from sight. His friends M.E.S. and İ.A. immediately went into the water to try and rescue him. During the rescue attempt, M.E.S. got stuck in the marsh and was unable to move.

Authorities were notified, and the Jandarma Search and Rescue teams, emergency medical services, UMKE, and IHH search and rescue teams were dispatched to the scene. After a 3-hour search, S.A.’s lifeless body was found in the water. M.E.S. was rescued from the marsh and received medical treatment.

S.A.’s body was taken to the morgue at the Kayseri State Hospital for an autopsy. The incident serves as a reminder of the dangers of water activities, especially at night. Authorities urge caution and awareness when engaging in water-related activities to avoid tragic accidents like this one. The loss of a young life has left the community in mourning and serves as a sobering reminder of the importance of safety measures.

The incident highlights the importance of being prepared and taking necessary precautions when engaging in outdoor activities. Authorities emphasize the need for proper equipment, safety measures, and awareness of potential risks when near bodies of water.
