Professional tennis player Carol Zhao and DoorDash co-founder Andy Fang first crossed paths at Stanford University but didn’t connect until after they both graduated. Despite Carol’s tennis schedule keeping her busy traveling close to 10 months a year, Andy planned a romantic proposal in Austin, Texas in February 2023. Florence held special significance for them, with it being one of the first cities Carol’s parents traveled to after they got married and a city Andy had always wanted to visit with his family.
