A 37-year-old man from the Memphis area, Kyl Alton Hall, has been charged with making threats against President Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, and former President Obama. The Justice Department announced that Hall allegedly posted threats on X last month, including plans to shoot, kill, and assassinate Biden, crash his plane, and harm Harris and Obama. He was federally indicted on two counts of threats to a sitting president and vice president, as well as one count of a threat to a former president. Hall was arrested by the Southaven Police Department in Mississippi on July 30 and could face up to five years in prison for each count if found guilty.
Additionally, an Arizona man who threatened to kill former President Trump was arrested after a manhunt while Trump was visiting the state for an event on the southern border. Last month, there was an attempted assassination on Trump, where a 20-year-old shooter grazed Trump’s ear during an outdoor rally. The shooter was killed by law enforcement, and multiple Secret Service agents have been placed on leave as the investigation into the incident continues.
