At least three people were killed and four others were injured in a knife attack at a celebration for the 650th anniversary of the German city of Solingen. The attack occurred on Friday night, causing shock and sadness among the residents of the city. Mayor Tim Kurzbach expressed his condolences for the victims and their families, stating that it was heartbreaking to see an attack happen during what was supposed to be a joyous occasion. The attacker, believed to have used a knife, remained at large as police conducted a manhunt in the area.

The Festival of Diversity, which was meant to celebrate the city’s history and culture, began on Friday and was scheduled to continue through Sunday. Emergency services and police were quickly deployed to the scene of the attack, with a large presence of law enforcement personnel searching for the perpetrator. Mayor Kurzbach extended his sympathies to those who witnessed the tragedy, acknowledging the trauma they must have experienced. He also thanked the rescue and security forces for their efforts in responding to the incident.

The police spokesperson in Dusseldorf, a nearby city, provided updates on the situation, reporting that four individuals sustained serious injuries in the attack. The authorities urged the public to remain vigilant and cautious as they continued their search for the assailant. Mayor Kurzbach called for unity and support from the community, asking for prayers or thoughts to be directed towards the victims and those still fighting for their lives. The city of Solingen was left in a state of mourning and disbelief following the violent incident.

The motive behind the knife attack in Solingen remained unclear as investigations continued. The authorities worked diligently to gather information and evidence that could lead to the apprehension of the suspect responsible for the deadly assault. The incident underscored the need for heightened security measures and vigilance during public events and gatherings, emphasizing the importance of community safety and support in times of crisis. As details of the attack emerged, residents of Solingen and beyond expressed their solidarity and condolences for the victims and their loved ones.

As the story developed, updates were expected to be provided by local authorities and news outlets. The ongoing manhunt for the perpetrator added to the tension and uncertainty in the community, prompting calls for vigilance and cooperation from the public. Mayor Kurzbach’s statements reflected the somber mood in Solingen, with residents grappling with the shock and tragedy of the violent attack. The city’s anniversary celebration was marred by the senseless loss of life and the injuries inflicted on innocent individuals, leaving a lasting impact on the community and underscoring the need for unity and resilience in the face of adversity.
