CouponBirds recently ranked Costco’s most beloved snacks based on customer data and reviews. The top spot went to Utah Truffles’ Dark Chocolate Truffles with Sea Salt, with a five-star rating in 91.99% of reviews. Despite their high cost of $36.99 for two 16-ounce packs online, these truffles were considered a decadent treat by consumers. The next two snacks on the list also contained chocolate, with Godiva Dark Chocolate Ganache Hearts and Nutella & Go’s Hazelnut & Cocoa Spread coming in second and third, respectively.
To determine the most popular snacks, CouponBirds analyzed 145,533 customer ratings for every snack listed on Costco’s website as of June 2024. They ranked the snacks based on the percentage of five-star reviews, eliminating items with fewer than 100 reviews. Rounding out the top five were Kirkland Signature Pecan halves and the G2G Peanut Butter Coconut Chocolate Protein Bar, which were voted the most popular products in the nuts/seeds and snack bar categories, respectively.
Interestingly, Costco’s most loved cookies were Lotus Biscoff Cookies (88.04%) and their most loved chips were Cheetos Crunchy (86.00%). Surprisingly, no brands of potato chips made the top snack list, and international snack brands outperformed American ones. For example, Lotus Biscoff Cookies, a Belgian brand, beat out America’s popular Oreos for the top spot in the cookie category.
According to CouponBirds’ financial analyst and money-saving expert Andy Cooper, the list featured a mix of well-known brand names and Costco’s private label offerings. Cooper noted that it was interesting to see the variety of products on the list, highlighting the preferences of Costco shoppers for both familiar and unique snack options. The survey results demonstrated the diverse tastes of Costco customers and their affinity for both indulgent treats and healthier snack options.
Overall, the top snacks at Costco were determined based on high percentages of five-star reviews from customers. Chocolate treats, nut-based products, and international snack brands were among the most popular choices for Costco shoppers. Despite the high cost of some items, such as the Utah Truffles mentioned earlier, these snacks were considered worth the investment for their quality and taste. Costco continues to be a destination for affordable bulk snacks that satisfy the cravings of snackers looking for both indulgent and healthier options.
