Anti-Israel demonstrators rallied outside the United Center in Chicago during the DNC, expressing skepticism about Vice President Kamala Harris and stating they are not ready to support her in November. Some protesters questioned Harris’s ability to fix a broken economic system using only “good vibes” and stated they were looking for more concrete strategies. Others attended the rally to become more informed about the election process and the Democratic Party’s platform. Kim Gaspar expressed her frustration with both presidential candidates, stating she could not support “Genocide Joe” or Donald Trump in the upcoming election.

Hiram Garcia, another protester, mentioned attending the rally as a way to educate himself about the DNC and the 2020 presidential election. Newman Abuissa, a Democratic Party delegate from Iowa, explained that he voted “present” when selecting a presidential candidate and emphasized the need to bridge the gap between the party leadership and its base. Abuissa also stated that he would not commit to supporting Harris until there is a ceasefire deal between Israel and Hamas, highlighting the importance of resolving international conflicts in the decision-making process.

The protesters outside the DNC rally expressed a range of opinions and concerns about the upcoming election, with some questioning the effectiveness of Harris as a potential leader and others voicing frustration with the current political climate. Enno, one of the demonstrators, emphasized the need for more concrete solutions to address economic issues rather than relying on superficial strategies. The diverse perspectives among the protesters underscored the complex challenges facing the Democratic Party and the broader political landscape in the United States.

Despite their reservations about Harris and the current political leadership, the protesters outside the United Center in Chicago were actively engaged and seeking to learn more about the election process and the Democratic Party’s platform. Their participation in the rally reflected a desire for greater transparency and accountability within the party, as well as a commitment to addressing pressing social and economic issues. The protesters’ concerns about international conflicts, such as the conflict between Israel and Hamas, underscored the interconnected nature of global politics and the need for comprehensive solutions to complex challenges.

As the election season continues, the protesters in Chicago and across the country will play a key role in shaping the future direction of the Democratic Party and influencing the outcome of the 2020 presidential election. Their voices and perspectives will contribute to a broader dialogue about the party’s values, priorities, and goals, highlighting the importance of engaging with a diverse range of voters and stakeholders. By challenging the status quo and demanding accountability from political leaders, the protesters are demonstrating their commitment to creating meaningful change and promoting a more inclusive and equitable society for all Americans.
