Search operations have begun in the town of Marmaris, Mugla, for a Russian woman who went on a nature hike three days ago and has been missing since. Natalia Somova (48), a Russian citizen who came to Marmaris from Moscow for vacation on August 11, left the hotel in the morning of August 17 to go to the Karya hiking trail in the İçmeler district.
Somova, who was supposed to return to her country on August 19, could not be reached by her relatives, so they reported the situation to the hotel and travel agency where she was staying. Upon receiving the notification from the security teams of the Marmaris Police Department, all camera footage in the district was scanned.
From the camera recordings, it was determined that the 48-year-old woman entered the Karia Hiking Trail in the İçmeler District around 7:30 in the morning on August 17. Marmaris Security Directorate teams, in coordination with AFAD center, AKUT Marmaris, Marmaris Municipality Search and Rescue Teams (MABKE), started search operations on the Karya Hiking Trail, which is a mountainous area with one end in İçmeler District and the other in Turunç District.
Despite their efforts, the teams have not been able to find any trace during the search operations. Search operations, which are now being continued in an approximately 11-kilometer area, have also involved tracking dogs in the morning hours.
