Marcus Stroman made his Yankees debut on Saturday night, tossing six strong innings allowed three unearned runs in a 5-3 win against the Astros. Stroman was excited and anxious ahead of his debut but was able to overcome it and deliver what the team needed. Despite errors contributing to the Astros’ runs, Stroman remained sharp and was praised by manager Aaron Boone for his performance.

Gleyber Torres, who was hit on the thumb by a pitch the day before, returned to the lineup on Saturday and went 1-for-4 with a walk. Concerns over his ability to throw prompted him to pull himself out of Friday’s game, but he was able to play through it on Saturday. Clayton Beeter made his MLB debut on Friday but was optioned back to Triple-A on Saturday. The Yankees called up Tanner Tully to provide more length in the bullpen and to avoid any potential injury issues by using Beeter on back-to-back days.

Despite Beeter’s brief outing and promising potential, the Yankees wanted to protect him and ensure he was not put in a situation that could lead to injury. Beeter will stay built up at Triple-A and is expected to return to the Yankees at some point during the season. Giancarlo Stanton was out of the lineup on Saturday, but Boone confirmed that he was fine physically. Aaron Judge took over at DH, and Trent Grisham got his first start of the year in center field.

Stroman’s debut provided a much-needed boost for the Yankees on a night when they were short in the bullpen. Stroman was able to overcome his nerves and deliver a solid performance, despite errors contributing to some of the Astros’ runs. Torres returned to the lineup after being hit by a pitch, while Beeter was sent back to Triple-A to protect him from potential injury concerns. The Yankees made roster moves to ensure they had enough depth in the bullpen for the upcoming games.

Boone expressed confidence in Beeter’s ability to help the team in the future and praised his performance, despite it being cut short. The Yankees are hopeful that Beeter will be back in the majors soon and contribute to the team’s success. Stanton’s absence from the lineup was just a precaution, as he was fine physically. Judge and Grisham stepped up in his absence, contributing to the team’s win over the Astros. The Yankees made strategic roster moves to address their bullpen depth and ensure they had enough pitching options moving forward.
