Istanbul Governor Ali Yerlikaya announced on social media that international organized crime syndicates and drug traffickers who disrupt public peace will not be allowed to breathe and all of them will be handed over to justice. He stated that the recent ‘Mahzen-23’ operation carried out by Istanbul Police Department’s Smuggling and Organized Crime Unit resulted in the capture of Talgat Baisaov and Maxat Rakhishov, who are wanted internationally for various crimes and have red notices.

The two suspects were wanted through Interpol’s Red Notices for different international crimes. Talgat Baisaov was sought for “Illegal Organized Activities and Smuggling” while Maxat Rakhishov was sought for “Fraud.” The successful ‘Mahzen-23’ operation in Istanbul led to their arrest and they have been handed over to the deportation center to be sent back to their respective countries. Governor Yerlikaya commended the Officers who conducted the operation and included video footage of the capture in his social media post.

The Twitter post by Ali Yerlikaya also included a video showing the moment of apprehension of the two individuals wanted for international crimes. This operation sends a strong message that Turkey is determined to combat organized crime and illegal activities on an international level. The efficient coordination between the Istanbul Police Department and the General Directorate of Security in the fight against such criminal activities is evident in this successful operation.

Praising the efforts of the Police Department and the coordination of the the Directorate of Security, Yerlikaya emphasized that no criminal activity, especially those of international organized crime groups, will be tolerated in Istanbul. The capture of Baisaov and Rakhishov highlights the dedication of the law enforcement authorities in Turkey to ensuring public safety and security. This operation serves as a warning to other criminals that the Turkish authorities are vigilant and prepared to take swift action against any illegal activities.

The ‘Mahzen-23’ operation illustrates the commitment of the Turkish authorities to collaborate with international agencies such as Interpol in apprehending wanted criminals. By successfully capturing suspects who are sought at an international level, Turkey demonstrates its determination to cooperate with other countries in fighting against transnational crimes. Yerlikaya’s announcement on social media serves as a reassurance to the public that the government is actively working to maintain law and order and crack down on criminal networks operating within the country.
