Pete Davidson confesses to still using one drug after quitting cocaine, ketamine, and pills

Pete Davidson, the comedian and “Saturday Night Live” alum, confessed at his “Pete Davidson: Rehab Tour” in Atlantic City that he still can’t quit smoking weed after getting clean from other substances like cocaine, ketamine, and pills. Despite his struggles with addiction, Davidson is determined to continue holding on to weed as the one drug he still relies on. He has been open about his mental health struggles, including PTSD and borderline personality disorder, for which he sought help through rehab treatments and therapy.

In August 2023, Page Six reported that Davidson had tried ketamine as a treatment for his depression as he was fresh out of rehab after seeking help for his mental health issues. Sources close to Davidson revealed that he regularly goes to rehab for “tune-ups” and to take mental breaks to focus on himself and better deal with his PTSD issues. The loss of his firefighter father in the 9/11 terrorist attacks has left a profound impact on Davidson, and he knows when he needs to step back and prioritize his mental well-being.

Prior to seeking help, Davidson was involved in a car crash with his then-girlfriend Chase Sui Wonders, where he was traveling at high speed and hit a fire hydrant before crashing into a home in Beverly Hills. The charges against Davidson related to the accident were dropped. Davidson jokingly shared with his audience that he decided to hit the house rather than possibly hitting a pedestrian, as he believed hitting a house would not result in any fatalities based on sitcoms he had seen.

Davidson admitted to being scared about the possibility of going to jail after the accident, but ultimately, he was relieved to learn that no one was seriously hurt. As part of his punishment, he was required to complete community service hours, take a safe driving course, and visit a hospital and morgue to confront the consequences of risky choices. Despite the challenges and setbacks he faced in 2023, Davidson mentioned that he was having a good year overall and is grateful for the progress he has made in dealing with his mental health issues.

The “Bupkis” star’s candid admission about his struggles with addiction and mental health issues highlights the importance of seeking help and taking breaks to focus on one’s well-being. Davidson’s openness about his challenges serves as a reminder that it is okay to ask for help and prioritize mental health over everything else. Despite his past mistakes and struggles, Davidson’s determination to continue working on himself and finding humor in difficult situations shows his resilience and commitment to his journey of recovery and self-improvement.
