Sports fans around the world are eagerly looking forward to the Paris Olympics in July and August, where they will cheer for their countries and favorite athletes. However, American Paralympian Ezra Frech reminds fans that there is another major event to watch in between the football season – the Paralympic Games. Starting on Aug. 28 and running through Sept. 8, the Paralympic Games showcase high-level competition with some of the best athletes on the planet. Frech emphasizes that there is no place for pity in the Paralympic Games, as these athletes are elite competitors who happen to have a physical disability.

In an interview with Fox News Digital, Frech encourages the average sports fan to tune in and watch the Paralympic Games for the high, high, high-level sport it offers. He stresses that the focus should be on the athletes’ incredible abilities and competitiveness, rather than feeling sorry for them. Frech acknowledges that the Paralympics can be inspiring, jaw-dropping, and shocking, just like any other sporting event. He believes that the Paralympics are on the cusp of significant growth and hopes that the event will resonate with the sporting audience in Paris.

Frech, who narrowly missed out on medaling in the Tokyo Paralympics three years ago, is excited about the potential growth of the Paralympics and his foundation, Angel City Sports. He points to a recent partnership with the P&G Athletes for Good Fund as a positive step in raising awareness of Paralympic sports. Frech sees the Paralympics as an opportunity to accelerate growth and increase the profile of adaptive sports, similar to the progress that women’s sports made in the past decade. With the upcoming Paralympic Games in Paris, Frech is hopeful that the event will continue to gain momentum and capture the attention of a broader audience.

As sports fans prepare to shift their focus from the Paris Olympics to college football and the NFL, Frech urges them not to overlook the excitement and talent on display at the Paralympic Games. He emphasizes that watching the Paralympics is an opportunity to witness elite athletes competing at the highest level, showcasing their skills and dedication. Frech’s message is clear – the Paralympics are not about feeling sorry for the athletes but rather celebrating their achievements and recognizing them as some of the best athletes in the world. By tuning in to the Paralympic Games, fans can experience the thrill and drama of elite sports competition while also supporting the growth and visibility of adaptive sports.
