Gen. Vajihollah Moradi, a high-ranking general in Iran’s Revolutionary Guard, has passed away after battling an illness, as reported by Iran’s state TV on Saturday. Moradi was known for his role as one of the commanders of the Guard’s foreign wing and was a close associate of the late Gen. Qassem Soleimani, who was killed in a U.S. drone strike in Baghdad in 2020. A funeral ceremony is scheduled to take place in the northern city of Babolsar on Sunday to honor Moradi’s memory.

Iran’s state TV mentioned that Moradi’s passing comes as a loss to the Iranian military and the nation as a whole. His contributions to the Revolutionary Guard, particularly in the foreign wing, were acknowledged and appreciated by his comrades and fellow soldiers. The funeral ceremony in Babolsar is expected to draw a large crowd, including high-ranking officials and military personnel, to pay their respects to Gen. Moradi.

The Revolutionary Guard, a powerful branch of Iran’s military, plays a crucial role in the country’s defense and security. Gen. Vajihollah Moradi’s death is seen as a significant loss for the organization, as he was a respected figure within the Guard and contributed to its operations, particularly in foreign territories. His work alongside Gen. Qassem Soleimani further solidified his reputation as a dedicated and skilled military leader.

Iran’s involvement in conflicts such as the civil war in Syria has led to the loss of many Iranian soldiers, including those serving in advisory roles. Despite officials stating that Iranian forces are present in Syria solely as advisers, the reality is that hundreds of Iranian troops have lost their lives in the ongoing conflict. The death of Gen. Moradi serves as a reminder of the sacrifices made by Iranian soldiers in their efforts to support allies and defend their interests in the region.

The funeral ceremony for Gen. Vajihollah Moradi is expected to be a somber and emotional event, with tributes pouring in from various sectors of Iranian society. His contributions to the Revolutionary Guard and his close ties with Gen. Qassem Soleimani will be highlighted during the ceremony, showcasing the profound impact that both generals had on Iran’s military and foreign operations. As Iran mourns the loss of another military leader, the nation remains steadfast in its commitment to defending its interests and supporting its allies in the region.

The death of Gen. Vajihollah Moradi serves as a stark reminder of the dangers and risks that Iranian military personnel face in their missions abroad. Despite the challenges and potential threats, soldiers like Gen. Moradi continue to serve with dedication and commitment, upholding Iran’s national security interests and defending the country’s sovereignty. As the funeral ceremony approaches, the Iranian military and government will honor Gen. Moradi’s memory and legacy, highlighting his courage, leadership, and dedication to the Revolutionary Guard and the nation of Iran.
