The General Manager of RemTech Expo, Silvia Paparella, and Fabrizio Capaccioli, President of the Green Building Council Italia, have signed a strategic agreement to enhance good practices and excellence at a national and international level through a series of joint actions. The agreement was signed in the presence of Alessandro Morelli, Undersecretary of State of the Council of Ministers, and Brigadier General Giuseppe Vadalà of the Carabinieri. The Memorandum focuses on creating opportunities for public-private debate, promoting green building directives, supporting sustainable building policies, regeneration projects, and cooperation with the government for waste disposal. These pillars aim to promote sustainable development and economic growth while creating non-outsourced jobs.
The objectives of the agreement include accelerating processes of intervention and regeneration of polluted and exploited territories to promote fair and sustainable development that prioritizes the well-being of people. The President of the Green Building Council Italia highlighted the importance of sharing knowledge from research, development, and innovation activities to organize high-profile events that identify the best technical solutions for ecological and digital transition. By supporting national institutional debates and developing operational proposals for the requalification of Italian territories and cities, the agreement aims to promote excellence and sustainable development in the country.
To achieve these goals, legislative tools consistent with the objectives of the agreement need to be put in place, advocating for industry and research to collaborate and address the challenges imposed by European regulations. The Undersecretary of State, Alessandro Morelli, emphasized the need for Italy to meet the demanding goals set by directives like the Green House directive as part of a transition process. The agreement between GBC and RemTech Expo in Ferrara will accelerate knowledge and implementation in sustainable regeneration projects, aligning with the efforts of the Carabinieri to remediate and secure 81 sites of illegal landfills with environmentally friendly protocols.
RemTech Expo, part of the Ferrara Expo Group, is a specialized Environmental Technology Hub that focuses on remediation, regeneration, and sustainable development of territories. It is held annually in Ferrara in September. Green Building Council Italia is an association that is part of the World GBC, the international network of GBCs in eighty countries, and a partner of USGBC. Through this agreement, both organizations aim to advance sustainable practices and promote collaboration between industry, research, and government to achieve a more sustainable future for Italy and its citizens.
