Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya shared the details of the operation on his social media account. He stated that in the last 4 days, the “Kıskaç-18” operations against FETÖ have been carried out in 17 provinces.
Yerlikaya announced that 90 suspects were captured in the operations targeting FETÖ. He emphasized that they will not tolerate FETÖ members and that the security forces will continue their operations with determination for the peace, unity, and solidarity of the nation.
The operation was coordinated by the General Directorate of Security Intelligence, the Organized Crime Unit, and the Anti-Terror Branch Directorate, in collaboration with Provincial Security Directorates’ Anti-Terrorism and Organized Crime Units. Yerlikaya provided detailed information about the operation in Ankara, Antalya, Aydın, Balıkesir, Bursa, Bitlis, Denizli, Edirne, Gaziantep, Giresun, Istanbul, Izmir, Kayseri, Kütahya, Malatya, Şanlıurfa, and Tekirdağ, where suspects were found to be involved in various activities within FETÖ’s covert structures.
According to Yerlikaya, the suspects were found to have engaged in activities within FETÖ’s ‘Security Insider Structure, Judicial Insider Structure, and Current Structure,’ communicated through payphones, had contact with responsible individuals within the organization, and hid in so-called ‘hideout houses’ established by the organization. They were also found to have definitive prison sentences and search records within the scope of FETÖ investigations. As a result of the operations, a significant amount of foreign and Turkish currency, digital materials, and organizational documents were seized.
Yerlikaya commended the brave police officers who carried out the operations and prayed for their safety. He emphasized that the prayers of the people were with the security forces and thanked them for their efforts in maintaining the peace and security of the nation. The operations were conducted successfully, leading to the capture of numerous suspects and the seizure of incriminating evidence against FETÖ members. With the determination to combat such terrorist organizations, the security forces will continue their operations to ensure the safety and unity of the nation.
