‘Psycho’ Billboard Mocks Donald Trump in His Own Backyard

Former President Donald Trump is facing criticism from conservative lawyer and Trump critic George Conway, who has paid for a large billboard near Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida. The billboard reads “Vote for Joe Not the Psycho,” with “Joe” referring to President Joe Biden. The message is accompanied by “Paid for by George Conway” in smaller lettering. Trump’s 2024 campaign spokesperson Steven Cheung denounced Conway, calling him a loser with mental issues to address.

Conway shared images and a map of the billboard’s location on Interstate 95 on X, formerly Twitter, noting that it was strategically placed for anyone traveling from Mar-a-Lago to Doral. He also shared a video of the billboard, pointing out the chirping birds in the background. Conway, who was married to former Trump adviser Kellyanne Conway, decided to pay for the billboard after consulting with the leader of the “Mad Dog” political action committee. He compared the message on the billboard to MAGA hats, expressing amusement at the idea of Trump seeing it.

During an interview with MSNBC’s Chris Hayes, Conway criticized the Republican Party for becoming a “cult” under Trump’s leadership. He referenced former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley’s recent decision to vote for Trump despite previously expressing concerns about his fitness for the presidency. Conway described Trump as mentally unstable and suggested that he had “lost it,” calling him “cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs.” He emphasized the importance of holding Trump accountable for his behavior and decisions.

The placement of the billboard near Trump’s residence has sparked controversy and garnered attention from the media. Conway’s actions have been seen as a form of political commentary and resistance to Trump’s continued presence in American politics. The billboard’s message reflects a growing sentiment among some Republicans and conservatives who are critical of Trump’s behavior and policies. The decision to label Trump as a “psycho” highlights the ongoing debate surrounding his mental fitness and leadership style.

Despite the backlash from Trump’s campaign spokesperson, the billboard has gained traction on social media and generated discussions about Trump’s legacy and influence moving forward. Conway’s actions have been viewed as a form of protest against Trump’s potential run for president in 2024 and a way to push back against his continued presence in the political arena. The billboard’s message serves as a reminder of the ongoing divisions within the Republican Party and the broader challenges facing American democracy.
