The reboot of the film I Know What You Did Last Summer has been confirmed, but original stars Jennifer Love Hewitt and Freddie Prinze Jr. have not been contacted about their potential involvement. After a failed TV reboot in 2021, Sony Pictures announced a new film for the franchise directed by Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, set to release in summer 2025.
Hewitt and Prinze Jr. are currently in a “holding period” as they wait to hear about their potential involvement in the new film. Hewitt expressed her love for the horror genre and her character Julie James, mentioning that there is “unfinished business” and that she would be happy to return if the story felt right.
