The Pakistani government has urged its nationals in Kyrgyzstan to remain indoors following attacks on foreigners in the capital city of Bishkek. The violence stemmed from an unknown dispute with migrants, resulting in mobs targeting foreigners. In response, Pakistan repatriated 140 Pakistani students from Kyrgyzstan and plans to use special flights to bring back more individuals who wish to leave Bishkek. The Foreign Ministry stated that the violence began after a clash between Kyrgyz locals and foreigners in the city, prompting concerns for the safety and security of Pakistani nationals.

A special flight carrying Pakistani students from Kyrgyzstan landed in Lahore, Pakistan, on Saturday, with some injured students receiving treatment at a local hospital in Bishkek. In light of the attacks, the Pakistani government has been in contact with Kyrgyz authorities to ensure the wellbeing of its nationals in the central Asian country. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed his concern over the violence and announced the immediate dispatch of a senior Cabinet minister to Bishkek to oversee efforts to protect Pakistani students. At this time, Pakistani authorities have not confirmed any fatalities among their nationals as a result of the attacks.

Following the incidents in Bishkek, Pakistan lodged a protest with a Kyrgyz diplomat regarding the alleged attacks on Pakistani nationals. Thousands of Pakistanis are currently studying or working in Kyrgyzstan, highlighting the significance of ensuring their safety amidst the unrest. The Pakistani government remains committed to supporting its citizens in Kyrgyzstan and taking necessary measures to safeguard their wellbeing in the face of escalating tensions. Efforts are being made to coordinate with local authorities and provide assistance to Pakistani nationals affected by the violence in Bishkek.

The situation in Kyrgyzstan continues to be precarious, with concerns raised over the safety of foreigners, including Pakistani nationals residing in the country. The violence and attacks on foreigners have prompted the Pakistani government to take swift action in repatriating its citizens and ensuring their protection. With the assistance of special flights and coordination with Kyrgyz authorities, Pakistan aims to bring back all individuals who wish to leave Bishkek due to the volatile situation. The repatriation efforts underscore the government’s commitment to safeguarding the interests and safety of Pakistani nationals in Kyrgyzstan during this challenging time.
