13 suspects who were arrested in operations conducted by the Illicit Trafficking and Organized Crime Branch teams of the Adana Security Directorate under the coordination of the Adana Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office have completed their processing. Out of the suspects taken to court, 10 were arrested by the duty judge and 3 were released.

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced on his social media account that 13 people were captured in the “Adjustment-3” operations conducted against those attempting to introduce fake gold into the market in Adana, Mersin, Yozgat, and Kahramanmaras. In the operations performed, approximately 3646 quarter gold coins, 811 half gold coins, 1614 full gold coins, and 57 Reşat gold coins with a total value of about 50 million lira were seized. Additionally, 14 full, 13 half, and 10 quarter gold molds, gold mold rings, 4 ready-to-print gold coins, and order-related documents were confiscated.

The suspects who attempted to introduce fake gold into the market were brought to justice and faced legal consequences, with some being sentenced to detention by the judge. The operations carried out by law enforcement authorities were successful in preventing the circulation of counterfeit gold in several provinces, as well as dismantling the illegal activities of the criminal organization behind this scheme.

The Interior Minister emphasized the importance of cracking down on organized crime and illicit trafficking, stating that such operations are crucial in maintaining the rule of law and ensuring the safety and security of citizens. He lauded the efforts of the law enforcement agencies involved in the operations and urged them to continue their diligent work in combating criminal activities and protecting the public interest.

The seized fake gold, molds, and related equipment were presented as evidence in court to demonstrate the criminal activities of the suspects. The successful outcome of the operations serves as a warning to other individuals involved in illegal activities, highlighting the determination of law enforcement authorities to uphold justice and hold perpetrators accountable for their actions.

Moving forward, law enforcement agencies will remain vigilant in monitoring and investigating suspicious activities to prevent the circulation of counterfeit goods in the market. Authorities will continue to crack down on organized crime networks and individuals involved in illicit activities to maintain public trust and ensure a safe and secure environment for all citizens.
