Visitors at Yellowstone National Park were caught on camera approaching a group of bison, despite warnings from park authorities to keep a safe distance from wild animals. The video, captured by Adella Gonzalez, shows a group of tourists crossing paths with the bison, prompting the animals to become agitated and charge at the group. Fortunately, the visitors were able to flee in time and avoid any injuries. The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of respecting wildlife and following park guidelines to ensure both the safety of visitors and the protection of the animals.

The National Park Service advises tourists to never approach bison and to observe them from a safe distance. Bison are the largest land mammals in North America, with males weighing up to 2,000 pounds and females around 1,000 pounds. They are also capable of running up to 35 miles per hour, making them faster than humans. By keeping a distance of at least 25 yards from all wildlife, visitors can prevent hazardous encounters and protect both themselves and the animals. The NPS website highlights several videos of bison encounters gone wrong to emphasize the dangers of approaching these seemingly docile animals.

In the video captured by Gonzalez, a group of tourists can be seen getting too close to the bison, prompting the animals to become agitated and charge at the group. The visitors are heard panicking and fleeing as the bison give chase. Despite the close call, no injuries were reported as a result of the encounter. The incident serves as a cautionary tale for those visiting national parks, reminding them of the potential risks of approaching wild animals and the importance of respecting their space.
