Six migrants accused of attacking two NYPD officers in Times Square were offered plea deals on Tuesday. Yohenry Brito, Ulises Bohorquez, and Andres Gomez-Izquiel were offered a year in jail for pleading guilty to assault. Kelvin Servita Arocha and Wilson Juarez were offered six months for obstructing a government administration, while Yorman Reveron faces two years for second-degree assault. Brito was also arrested for stealing from Macy’s, with a judge warning him against further criminal activity.

Other migrants involved in the attack will return to court on June 18 to set a trial date. Edgarlis Vegas has not yet received an offer. The incident occurred on January 27 when the officers asked the migrants to move, leading to a scuffle. One migrant stomped on a lieutenant’s head while another kicked the officer in the back. The video of the attack sparked outrage and calls for deportations.

The defendants’ attorneys have not accepted the plea deals, and proceedings will continue on June 18 if no agreement is reached.
